EMPIRE STATE OF CLIMB
New York City is the hiking capital of the world. The trails upstate can’t beat the charge of a hike around the five boroughs. Here, your trailhead starts outside your front door and the trail is ever changing. It’s not a weekend escape. It’s a challenge you’re taking on every single day.
Hike “The Eddie”
Eddie Bauer will partner with the New York City Parks Department to develop the first organized walking path that will connect all five boroughs “The Eddie”. This path will highlight bridges, parks, and riverside trails that showcase the best of what hiking in New York City has to offer.
Eddie Bauer X AllTrails
We’re partnering with AllTrails to create the Hike NYC App. Trail information and history will be available for routes and landmarks across the five boroughs. Locals will be able to log their hikes and tourists will be able to pick up some local lore as they get a few days of authentic hiking in.
Squirrel Patrol on Socials
The Squirrel Census of 2019 determined there were over 2,300 squirrels in Central Park. That’s why we’re putting together the NYC Squirrel Patrol to catalogue and share tales of these critters through Instagram and TikTok. Join the patrol and keep an eye out during your next trek through the park.
The NYC 5er Jacket
In the spirit of “46ers”, the title one gets for climbing all 46 peaks of the Adirondacks, Eddie Bauer is introducing NYC 5er jackets for those who hike the five boroughs day in and day out. These jackets tell people that, although you haven’t left the city in months, you’ve been hiking every single day.
The Brooklyn Ridge Bodega
This winter, we’ll be taking over and remodeling a bodega on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge into The Brooklyn Ridge Bodega. This snowy outpost will feature icy temperatures, NYC trailmaps, and hot sandwiches for the rest of your hike. Grab a chopped cheese for the climb as you continue the hike through Brooklyn.
